Weronika Murek
Born in 1989 in Bytomio. She graduated from University of Silesia in Katowice, majoring in Law and Administration. In 2015 she published her first short story collection The Cultivation of Heliophyte Plants by Michurin’s Method (Uprawa roślin południowych metodą Miczurina) for which she was nominated for the Paszport Polityky Prize, Nike Literary Prize, Gdynsk Literary Prize, and also Nagrod Conrad Prize in the category of prose fiction. In the same year her first theatre play Feinweinblein won the prestigious Gdynsk Drama National Competition. She is also the recipient of Witold Gombrowicz Prize 2016.
