The issue opens with Miroslav Petříček’s essay „We Were Never Revolutionary”, which is accompanied by an excerpt from Bruno Latour’s essay „Politics as Negotiation”. The tenth instalment of Karel Haloun’s „truth and lies on the road” series leads us to Israel, while the next „documentary paper” by Petr Fischer is dedicated to documents about dying. The section „Doubts… Maestro” closes with short articles „What Intelligent Machines Dream About” and „a sovereign’s letter to a great philosopher” entitled „Dear Maestro”. The following section „Summer Holidays… with Trifles” once more looks at summer festivals and Barbora Etlíková writes here about the Slovak festival Um Um („Drops of Theatre for Stará Ľubovna”) and Vladimír Mikulka mentions foreign productions at the contemporary circus festival Letní Letná 2021 („We Love Pop”). The section is completed with photographs from the festival Ohromné maličkosti (Tremendous Trifles) organized by the Svět a divadlo magazine, and „new directions for use” penned by Zuzana Lazarová and Petr Váša. In the section „Conspiracies… of Colonialists” Iva Heribanová („Brave New Provázek”) writes about productions of the Brno theatre Husa na provázku (Goose on a String Theatre): Meeting of Plotters, Cherwuish, and Better to Go Mad in the Wild. In her essay „Dialogues with Čapek”, Kateřina Lesch looks at three productions inspired by robots and robotics: Artefact (Théâtre Nouvelle Génération), Robot Radius (The National Theatre – Laterna Magika), and R. U. R. (Buchty a loutky). Karel Král, in his essay „The Confession of a Colonialist”, writes about the production Memories of Togoland by the Handa Gote research & development ensemble, and the poem One Day of Simon Bono Tawata by Ewald Murrer is also set in a fictitious Czech colony. In the section „Death… and Other Patterns” Barbora Sedláková („To Be an Owner of One’s Own Death”) looks at „Japanese” productions Personal Fuji (A Studio Rubín) and Gold Cut (Studio Hrdinů). Vladimír Mikulka („What Remained and What Was Lost from Balzac”) considers the adaptation of Lost Illusions at the Divadlo Na Zábradlí (Theatre on the Balustrade), and Josef Rubeš („Brecht’s Musical from the Wild West”) about Mother Courage and Her Children at the ABC Theatre. The section closes with Ester Žantovská’s essay „Patterns and Genes…” about productions Nothing Else, Mothers by Anna Klimešová and Dominika Špalková, and Papagen by Zuzana Šklíbová, Antonie Formanová and Karin Vápeníčková Bilíková. The issue continues with the section „Take-off… Sentimental” where Tomáš Blatný („The First Take-offs of Vršovice Community Centre”) writes about the opening of a new cultural centre Vzlet (Take-off) and simultaneously reviews the production Sentimental: The Night when Michael Jackson Died on Kavčí plácek and Orestes Just Watched by the VOSTO5 ensemble. The section closes with euripylevinés’ (René Levínský’s) „fragment” Orestes on Kavčí plácek, which is a part of the production Sentimental. The section „Festival… Dreaming” is dedicated to autumn festivals: Theatre in Pilsen and Dream Factory in Ostrava. Jakub Škorpil („Pilsen Times”) writes about productions Austerlitz by Krystian Lupa, Familie by Milo Rau, 3STRS by Luk Perceval and D1 (working title) by Lukáš Brutovský. Vladimír Mikulka („Ostravian Dreaming”) deals with Ostravian productions Goldoni alla Ostrava by Tomáš Svoboda, A Carpathian Thriller by Roman Polák, Aflame by Marek David, and Špinarka by Tomáš Dianiška. The section „Mix… and Comics” includes Alice Koubová’s essay „Beneficial or Sovereign? (On the Position of Culture in the Contemporary Social Context)” and Victory, the eleventh instalment of the comic strip The Twin by the author duo Klimáček Danglár. The play of the issue is Goya (Puppet Feminist and Patriotic Farce) by the visual artist Kateřina Černá. The next „short comedy” written for the SaD magazine in the series „From Evolution Revolution and the Other Way Round” is Jakub Čermák’s VELVET!, and it is a “documentary epic in verse about the November revolution for a young spectator”.
